Emphasizing basic skills of speaking, comprehension, reading and writing. Intended for students with no previous background in Chinese. (Pass/Fail option) Every semester. CCP

Designed to increase basic skills. Intended for students who have had an introductory semester of Chinese. Prerequisite(s): CHI 101H or permission of instructor. (Pass/Fail option) Every semester. CCP

  CHI 115H - Chinese Culture
Analysis of Chinese culture through readings, videotapes, newspaper articles and class discussions. The class is conducted in English and is designed to introduce Chinese traditions, religion, art, music, social and current issues. Every year. CCP

  CHI 201H - Intermediate Chinese
A continuation of CHI 102H, this course develops conversational, reading and writing skills. Discussions of Chinese culture will be an integral part of the classwork. Prerequisite(s): CHI 102H or permission of instructor. (Pass/Fail option) Every year. CCP
