  ENV 100F - Foundations of Science: Environmental Science
Introduction to the content, methods, and philosophy of science with a focus on principles of biology, chemistry, physics, and geology and their application to environmental problems. Covers environmental problems and their causes, science, matter, energy and ecology, the human population, biodiversity, rangelands, parks and wilderness, sustaining wild species, sustaining soils and producing food, toxicology and human health, air, climate and ozone, water, solid and hazardous waste, environmental economics, politics and world views. Prerequisites: First-year students not majoring in the sciences or secondary education/biology or science. Once a year.

  ENV 377 - Special Topics in Environmental Science
Designed to cover specialized topics that are not included in the Environment Science curriculum. Course may be repeated for credit when topic is different. Prerequisite(s): BIO 161 and BIO 172 and CHY 141/142 and GEY 131. Variable.

  ENV 390 - Environmental Science Internship
Experiential learning situation where the student can earn credit for appropriate activities. The experience should involve the gathering and manipulation of environmental data. Proposals should be developed in conjunction with environmental science faculty member and must be approved by the program faculty. Prerequisite(s): environmental science majors with at least 16 program credits or permission of instructor. (Pass/Fail only.) Fall and Spring.

  ENV 451 - Environmental Science Seminar
To provide a forum for advanced students in an interdisciplinary program in environmental studies to critically discuss problems in this area, as well as to have an opportunity to meet and hear professional scientists in various areas of expertise. Prerequisite(s): science major with junior or senior status. Spring.

  ENV 497 - Independent Study in Environmental Science
An opportunity for students majoring in environmental science to initiate and conduct an environmental study in accordance with scientific procedures under the supervision of an appropriate staff member. Prerequisite(s): junior and senior environmental science majors or permission of instructor. (Pass/Fail option.) Fall and Spring.
