ENV 100F - Foundations of Science: Environmental Science |
Introduction to the content, methods, and philosophy of science with a focus on principles of
biology, chemistry, physics, and geology and their application to environmental problems.
Covers environmental problems and their causes, science, matter, energy and ecology, the human
population, biodiversity, rangelands, parks and wilderness, sustaining wild species, sustaining
soils and producing food, toxicology and human health, air, climate and ozone, water, solid and
hazardous waste, environmental economics, politics and world views. Prerequisites: First-year
students not majoring in the sciences or secondary education/biology or science. Once a year.

Designed to cover specialized topics that are not included in the Environment Science

ENV 390 - Environmental Science Internship |
Experiential learning situation where the student can earn credit for appropriate activities. The
experience should involve the gathering and manipulation of environmental data. Proposals
should be developed in conjunction with environmental science faculty member and must be
approved by the program faculty. Prerequisite(s): environmental science majors with at least 16
program credits or permission of instructor. (Pass/Fail only.) Fall and Spring.
