This program supplements a 30-credit music core with foundation courses in the other arts. Flexible course requirements allow students some latitude in putting together a program that meets their needs and interests. Through the study of music history and theory, exploration of computer music composition, instruction in performance, and participation in ensembles with other students and community members, students develop their musicianship and deepen their understanding of music as a multi-faceted discipline that interconnects with many other fields. Whether the student plans a career related to music, or simply wants to remain actively involved in music-making, UMF provides a variety of richly rewarding musical experiences.
