Bachelor of Arts: Women's and Gender Studies

About The Program
Women's and Gender Studies examines historical, political, and economic conditions crucial to understanding the construction of gender and the experiences of women in the U.S. and across cultures. The program features interdisciplinary core courses and cross listed courses that challenge the student to think critically about sexuality, gender, race, class, and nation. The program emphasizes connections between theory and practice, encouraging community involvement via course projects and internships. Students in Women's and Gender Studies develop strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem solving skills that prepare them for a variety of careers or graduate study in such areas as social service, public policy, business, law, women's studies, education and government.
