UMF offers a number of international study opportunities through our exchange agreements with universities in China, England, France, and Russia. Students can also choose from other programs in various countries via the College Consortium for International Studies. Most students who qualify for financial aid may apply their aid to study abroad. If you are interested in international study, contact the Director of Special Services. Students may also pursue an interdisciplinary major in International Studies as outlined in the catalog.

The UMF Semester in France program offers you the opportunity to spend a semester in Le Mans or Angers, France, studying French language and culture. Participating students earn 15 credits. If you are interested, contact the Director of International Exchanges, 101 South Street.

UMF students may spend the spring semester on exchange at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England. UMF students participating in this program travel as a group accompanied by a faculty member or graduate student who serves as their mentor and advisor. You may study Chinese or Russian at UMF with an exchange professor from Beijing Polytechnic University or Komi State Pedagogical Institute. Once you achieve basic proficiency, you have the opportunity to study in Beijing or Komi for a semester or a year through our international exchange agreements with these universities.
