  SCI 360 - Teaching Laboratory Sciences
The purpose of this course is to provide Middle/Secondary Science Education majors with a laboratory apprenticeship. The course is designed to focus on teaching laboratory science, laboratory safety and waste disposal, creating content-rich field experiences for middle and high school students, inquiry in the lab sciences, and a variety of laboratory teaching strategies to enhance classroom instruction. Students will work with a faculty member in both education and their science discipline on developing discipline-specific labs that they will use in the future when teaching biology, chemistry, physics, or the earth sciences. Prerequisite(s): Middle/Secondary Science Education Majors, EDU 221, Professional Standing, and EDU 360 Science Methods I. (Pass/Fail only) Spring semester.
